New Design Now Online & Signed Tee Auction...

Welcome to our new Tea Shirt.

Official TAS organic cotton tees, made using wind power and solar energy, we print on them with water based ink. Accept no imitations.

PLUS: WE'RE AUCTIONING A SIGNED TEE...

Billy Bragg was kind enough to sign one of our shirts for us at the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival last weekend and we're auctioning it on ebay (the only time we will put our products on ebay is for charitable causes...)

The auction proceeds will go to the charity Jail Guitar Doors, an independent initiative which aims to provide instruments to those who are using music as a means of achieving the rehabilitation of prison inmates. Founded by Billy Bragg, it takes its name from the b-side of the Clash’s 1978 single ‘Clash City Rockers’.

For further information go to http://www.jailguitardoors.org.uk/
THE TEE IS A MENS SIZE SMALL (36-38" Chest, but modelled here by an 8 year old)

TAS @ Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival

TAS will be at the 2009 Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival which will take place in Dorset from 17th to 19th July. Look out for our SoulPad and stop by for a brew...

On February 24th, 1834, six farm labourers from the Dorset village of Tolpuddle were arrested on a charge of taking part in an 'illegal oath' ceremony.

In the eyes of their masters, however, the real offence was that they had dared to form a trade union to defend their livelihood.

For this they were sentenced to seven years' transportation to the penal colonies of Australia.

The sentences provoked an immense outcry, leading to the first great mass trade union protest.

The campaign won free pardons and the Martyrs' return to England.

A historic episode in the struggle for trade unionists' rights in Great Britain.

To commemorate the bravery of the martyrs' struggle against poverty and authority, this annual festival features music, speakers and family entertainment.

Thank you to Simon Green for this photograph.

The annual festival reflects the spirit of those prepared to stand up and be counted and for those just learning about the history it is a joyful celebration of our solidarity.

Cup of Tea and a Nice Walk...

A pretty impressive charity walk in fact. Jamie Stephenson and Sam Hebburn are walking the 450 miles that compose the border of Cornwall in four weeks.

The trek began in their hometown of Wadebridge, they hugged the Camel and the coast up to the Cornwall/Devon border, then proceeded to follow the border down and along the south cost of Cornwall, (where they will be either walking to bridges or swimming estuaries), around the tip and then back up to Wadebridge (at which everyone is welcome to join them for a 'few' celebratory drinks).

The money they raise will be donated to ‘PAPYRUS’.

This is a charity who's chief aims are preventing, and raising awareness for the MOST COMMON cause of death for young people between 15-34 in the UK. Suicide.

It is unfortunately however a horrifyingly accurate statistic that leaves untold number of families, friends and communities in ruins each year.

A massively important charity and two very courageous (if not a bit mad) Cornish boys.

Jamie and Sam, The Tea Appreciation Salute you.

Show your support and give what you can. Even just by joining the event you're giving them a morale boost.
